Odelius New Media

Commissioned by the Stockholm based advertising agency Odelius New Media in 2006 Audiotechture created a sonic sculpture, dubbed Yttringar by the agency MD. The sculpture is a tall structure consisting of four rebars, eight speakers, a camera and a scrapped electrical cabinet housing a Mac computer.

     The sculpture is silent until you come within a meters radius when it begins to emit a sound similar to a heavy electrical hum. The closer the sculpture you then move the stronger the hum gets, until finally, the sculpture expels electrical discharges. If you get really close up the sound of the sculpture starts to sound uncontrollably chaotic and aggressive, not unlike the growling from an electric predator.
